22-year-old axed in 4-2-3-1: Rangers expected XI v Celtic

Rangers manager Graeme Murty is expected to make one change to his starting XI for Sunday’s Scottish Premiership clash with bitter rivals Celtic – with 22-year-old striker Jason Cummings axed from the side and Alfredo Morelos taking his place.

Cummings hit the net against Hearts last weekend as they returned to second place in the Scottish Premiership but the 21-year-old Colombian is likely to return to the side for the trip to Celtic Park.

Wes Foderingham’s injury means Jak Alnwick is expected to start in goal with James Tavernier, Ross McCrorie, Russell Martin and Declan John lining up ahead of him.

Jason Holt and Graham Dorrans are likely to continue in central midfield after impressing in the win over Craig Levein’s side last weekend while Daniel Candeias, Josh Windass and Jamie Murphy take up their usual positions further forward.

Morelos looks almost certain to come back in after beig given a breather against Hearts after a long campaign for the Colombian following his move from HJK in the summer.

Morelos will be desperate to break his Old Firm scoring duck and help the Light Blues record their first win in over two years against the Hoops.

Murty’s side will also face the added pressure of knowing defeat would confirm Brendan Rodgers’ side as champions for the seventh successive season.
