Defensive enforcer Ross McCrorie had arguably his best game for Rangers in Wednesday’s 3-0 win over Aberdeen since making his first-team debut – and fans on Twitter were completely blown away by his performance.

McCrorie was moved forward from his usual central defensive role and played as the holding midfielder in a diamond as Graeme Murty revamped his midfield.

The homegrown youngster showed fantastic maturity and composure in his performance as he sat in front of Bruno Alves and Danny Wilson and shielded the Gers’ defence.

McCrorie is comfortable in the position having played there on a number of occasions – including once off the bench in a first-team game – and outshone his team-mates in a convincing win for the Gers.

Fans were hugely impressed with McCrorie’s performance against the Dons – with one delighted supporter saying he ‘could become a great.’

Here are some of their comments on Twitter:

Two goals from James Tavernier and a Carlos Pena strike sealed a comprehensive win for Graeme Murty’s side in the first of two games with Aberdeen this week.

The Gers travel to Pittodrie on Sunday afternoon and could leapfrog the Dons in second-place in the Scottish Premiership with three points in the lunchtime clash with Derek McInnes’ side.

In the latest Rangers news, Murty has had his say on Wednesday’s game against the Dons.
