'Long term deal', 'Superb' - Rangers fans in meltdown as key player confirms update on future

Rangers fans have been losing their minds on Twitter after goalkeeper Wes Foderingham revealed that he is not going anywhere in the summer despite the reported arrival of Allan McGregor being set to be completed this week.

The Scottish Sun reported on Wednesday that Hull and Scotland shot-stopper McGregor is due to undergo a medical with the Light Blues and will have his move to Ibrox announced before the end of the week.

It was also understood from that report that Foderingham would be leaving Govan as McGregor would not want to play second fiddle to the Englishman, who was said to be attracting attention from Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday.

However on Thursday, Foderingham took to his personal Twitter account to confirm that he will not be leaving Ibrox in the immediate future after he was demanded for answers by a fan.

Rangers fans were in meltdown after the 27-year-old’s emphatic claim about his future in Govan, and plenty took to the replies section to offer their thoughts on the goalkeeper, with one telling him to sign a “long term deal”.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

Foderingham has been a key player for Rangers this season.

He has made 37 appearances across all competitions this term but may miss the game against Celtic this weekend with an injury.

In other Rangers and Celtic news, Allen would become a Gers legend if he signs this Celtic-mad midfielder who rejected Walter Smith.
