Kenny: Rangers fans need answers on 'very strange' Aribo-Roofe situation
Kemar Roofe and Joe Aribo’s recent absence from Rangers pre-season matches is “very strange” and the club must offer fans some clarity.
So say ex-Premier League goalkeeper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Ibrox pair.
The two played a combined total of 78 matches and were among Steven Gerrard’s star performers last term.
But Rangers’ Scottish Premiership opener against Livingston is now just three days away and no news about the pair has been forthcoming.
Kenny speculated that either injury or illness could lie behind their absence and insisted a simple announcement would put fans’ minds at rest.

“I do find it very strange,” he told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams.
“Nowadays, with social media you can’t miss a trick. Everybody knows when they are not involved and they want to know why.
“It’s a strange one why they haven’t come out and said what it is. It could be COVID, but if it is then why would you not just come out and say that?
“That would put it to bed and get rid of all the rumours then. It will be interesting to see what happens with that.
“They could have injuries, who knows? But with the way things are with COVID it could possibly be that as well.”
