'Brutal trolling' - Rangers fans react as club destroy Scottish Government minister on Twitter

Rangers have caused a massive reaction from fans on Twitter after trolling Scottish Government minister Humza Yousaf over the appointment of Steven Gerrard as manager.

Yousaf had claimed on Twitter that the Gers wouldn’t appoint the Liverpool icon, calling it a “spoiler” before the Gers got their own back with a tongue-in-cheek nod to Yousaf’s role as the Scottish Government’s Minsister for Transport after they confirmed Gerrard would take over from June 1st on a four-year deal.

Gers fans went absolutely wild on Twitter as the club took a massive step away from their usual social media style and took a shot at the SNP minister – with one saying “brutal trolling from the official account is greatly received.”

Here are some of their comments on Twitter:

Gerrard will take his first steps into management with the Ibrox giants and will be joined by former Scotland captain Gary McAllister.

The Liverpool icon will finish his obligations with the Anfield giants Academy and broadcaster BT Sport before taking the reins at Ibrox and trying the end Celtic’s recent domination of Scottish football.
