'Empty jersey', 'Vile' - Rangers fans blast attacker for display v Ross County

Rangers closed the gap to Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership to four points with a 2-1 win over Ross County on Saturday – but fans were not happy with Daniel Candeias’ performance on Twitter.

The 29-year-old attacker started ahead of the suspended Ryan Jack and worked hard to get down the right but rarely found anyone in a blue jersey with his crosses.

Candeias did set up Alfredo Morelos’ equaliser with a brilliant low ball to get the Gers back into the game before Danny Wilson grabbed a late winner.

The former Benfica winger played in a slightly more central role than he has usually appeared in for the Light Blues and took a little bit of time to get used to his new role before settling in better in the second-half.

Fans blasted Candeias for his performance – particularly in the first-half – with one calling his crossing “vile.”

Here are some of their comments on Twitter:

Candeias has been one of Rangers better summer signings but will clearly have to step up his performances if he is to continue impressing fans.

The Portuguese wingers could find himself starting in a similar role on Wednesday night when the Gers travel to Easter Road to take on Neil Lennon’s Hibs.
