Rangers fans react on Twitter to Waghorn axe v St Johnstone
By Dominic Toner
Martyn Waghorn has been dropped from the Rangers starting line-up against St Johnstone – and the club’s supporters were furious with the decision on Twitter.
The 26-year-old striker is one of three changes made by manager Mark Warburton as Lee Wallace and Lee Hodson also drop out.
The Gers travel to St Johnstone on Wednesday night in the hope of consolidating second in the league table, but may have one eye on Saturday’s Old Firm match against Celitc.
Rangers have won their last four consecutive games and have managed to hit their best form of the season.
Waghorn has recently forced his way back into the starting XI and scored a brace in a 2-1 win over Hamilton, but has been replaced by veteran forward Kenny Miller against St Johnstone.

Surprised Waghorn is on the bench. He's been our biggest goal threat recently ????

Waghorn is currently fighting for a staring position in a competitive squad and is behind Joe Garner in the pecking order.
The forward has enjoyed a recent run in the side and has begun to recapture the top form he showed last season as Rangers were promoted.
Waghorn has has made 18 appearances this season and scored 10 goals in return, but only three of them have come in the league.
He will be desperate to feature in the Old Firm derby against Celtic and will have to make an impact off the bench.
