Rangers fans react on Twitter to Warburton future after win against Motherwell

By Amir Mir

Mark Warburton guided his Rangers side to a 2-1 win over Motherwell in the Scottish Cup – and fans on Twitter provided strong views on his future.

Despite the Gers dominating the majority of the possession in the first half, their inability to pass the ball quickly enough led to the scoreline being goalless going into the break.

Motherwell then took the lead through a brilliant header from Louis Molt in the second period but experienced striker Kenny Miller scored two late goals in the last ten minutes to help his team progress through to the next round.

Supporters on Twitter weren’t too impressed with their team’s display as they felt Miller got the Scottish manager out of hot water.

However, it was Warburton’s substitutions, in particular, Josh Windass that changed the game for the Glasgow club.

The midfielder added more bite and quickness to the midfield as his magnificent cross was headed in by Miller for the equaliser.

Nonetheless, despite the victory, one fan stated that Warburton must still go as his side aim to lift the Scottish Cup this season.

They are 19 points adrift of Celtic in the Scottish Premiership and lost out to their Old Firm rivals who clinched the Scottish League Cup earlier on in the campaign.

Therefore, this is the only realistic trophy that Warburton and his side can win as fans continue to express their displeasure towards him.
