'Great addition' – Rangers fans blown away after reported bid made for international dazzler
Rangers fans have been blown away on Twitter after it was reported that the Glasgow club have launched a swoop for Northern Ireland and Kilmarnock ace Jordan Jones.
STV reporter Raman Bhardwaj claimed on his personal Twitter account on Monday that the Gers had tabled a £350,000 bid for the dazzling attacker, which could rise to £500,000.
The Gers have already signed midfielder Sean Goss on loan from Queens Park Rangers and Brighton winger Jamie Murphy as manager Graeme Murty revamps the squad he inherited from Pedro Caixinha.
Northern Ireland international Jones, known for his pace and skill, has scored three times in 25 appearances for Steve Clarke’s side so far this season as the Rugby Park side exceed expectations.
Gers fans are delighted with the prospect of the Northern Irishman arriving at Ibrox – with one fan saying he would be a “great addition.”
Here are some of their comments on Twitter:
The Gers could make a trio of signings this week with Jason Cummings and Russell Martin both reportedly close to agreeing loan moves to Ibrox.
Murty’s starting XI could look massively different when they line up for the first game after the winter break as the 43-year-old looks to secure second place in the Scottish Premiership and reel in runaway leaders Celtic.
The Gers return to action when they face Highland League minnows Fraserburgh in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup on January 21st at tiny Bellslea Park.
In other Rangers news, the Gers are expected to announce this done deal within hours after a medical is scheduled.
