Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to tear into Celtic captain Scott Brown for his performance in Saturday’s Old Firm clash at Parkhead.

Brown, 32, is far from a popular figure among the Gers supporters and they took great pleasure in seeing him off the boil as the two bitter rivals played out a 0-0 draw.

At one point in the second half, striker Alfredo Morelos embarrassed the Scotland international by nutmegging him in the penalty box before going on to have a shot on goal which would eventually go wide.

Rangers fans clearly didn’t want to spare the ex-Hibernian midfielder any sympathy for his performance on Twitter, with one saying Morelos sent him “to the shop”.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

Brown has been ever-present for Celtic for the past few seasons and has been one of the best players in Brendan Rodgers’ squad this term.

He has made 34 appearances across all competitions this campaign for the Bhoys, missing just a handful of games due to injury and Rodgers’ tendency to rotate his squad while the Scottish champions were still in the Champions League.

After Saturday’s Old Firm game, both Rangers and Celtic now go into the winter break and won’t return until their Scottish Cup clashes towards the end of January.

In other Rangers news, Jim White has given an update on the Light Blues’ talks to sign this Premier League forward.
