Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to urge James Tavernier to sign a new contract with the club after his latest barnstorming performance.
The right-back, 26, has played some of the best football of his career this season and has become a firm favourite with supporters at Ibrox.
He captained the team for the first time on Sunday in their 6-1 Scottish Cup fifth-round win over Ayr United and continued his recent excellent form.
Tavernier subsequently took to his personal Twitter account to express his pride at captaining the side at Somerset Park and being a part of such an emphatic victory.

It comes after Light Blues manager Graeme Murty revealed, as quoted in The Scottish Sun, that the club are in talks with Tavernier over a new contract.

The right-back’s current contract with the Scottish Premier League side runs until the summer of 2019.
