'Sevcoitis is contagious' - Rangers fans react as Hearts chief is quizzed over Gers finances
Hearts chairwoman Ann Budge was quizzed about Rangers meeting Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules by Jambos fans during a Q&A about the future of they Tynecastle club – and Gers fans have found the whole thing absolutely ridiculous.
Clubs that fail to meet criteria can be refused a UEFA licence and Budge was asked if Hearts would seek assurances from the Scottish FA that the Ibrox giants meet the FFP regulations ahead of next season having reported losses in each of the last five years and relying on additional funding from backers such as Dave King.
Hearts chief Budge insisted the Gers weren’t being treated “any differently” from any other club, as quoted by the Scottish Sun, but that didn’t stop Light Blues fans finding the idea of Hearts fans asking their chairwoman about Rangers comical.
Here are some of their comments on Twitter:
Imagine being that obsessed you ask your current Hearts Chairwoman about Rangers & UEFA licensing for next season YET fail to ask who the anonymous benefactor who paid £1.5m to keep the lights on at Tynecastle is. #Hearts

Literally every supporter in Scottish Football is consumed by Rangers,
it’s amazing how hypocritical supporters of a club who suffered a similar experience to Us which was also caused by previous owners can be…..
55 will literally destroy these people. pic.twitter.com/lhb7BNajY4

Hearts fans quizzing Ann Budge over Rangers’ ability to meet UEFA’s FFP requirements is just the best.

So erm… what was the most important point to take away from the Q&A? An update on the future for Hearts or another daft question about Rangers? pic.twitter.com/UxfzVehPqH

You know these audited accounts that haven't been submitted and will mean no UEFA license? Here's a copy that was submitted to companies house 3 1/2 months ago. Sevcoitis is contagious. pic.twitter.com/FfUUuWl121

So in a meeting about Hearts, Hearts supporters talk about Rangers. We really are the only show in town.

Did Hearts not receive 4.5 million from a "mystery benefactor"?

UEFA can hand out a range of punishments to clubs who fail to meet FFP regulations with Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City both fined and hit with squad registration restrictions in European competition.
Hearts could stand to gain if the Gers were to be refused a UEFA licence although it’s highly unlikely to get that far.
