Rangers fans reacted with delight on Twitter after their team secured an encouraging 2-0 friendly win at Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday.

The Glasgow giants took thousands of travelling fans to Hillsborough for the pre-season clash and they were given plenty to sing about with a two-goal triumph from Pedro Caixinha’s side to provide further encouragement that they have bounced back from their European humiliation at the hands of minnows Proges at the start of this month.

A first-half goal from Josh Windass was followed by a second early in the second half from Kenny Miller, who showed that his finishing skills remain well intact at the age of 37.

Rangers fans were delighted at a second friendly win in four days against English opposition following Wednesday’s 2-1 behind-closed-doors triumph against Watford.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

The Ibrox club will now enter the new campaign in good heart after beginning an encouraging three-match run with a 1-1 draw against French giants Marseille last Saturday.

Rangers begin their Scottish Premiership campaign with a trip to Motherwell next Sunday in what is a lunchtime kick-off.

In other Rangers news, the club are eyeing a swoop for a top-flight duo and have already tabled one major bid.
