'Scott Brown will have some competition' - Rangers fans urge club to sign up PL playmaker

Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to urge the club to re-sign midfielder Steven Davis in the summer transfer window as it has become clear that director of football Mark Allen is already beginning his transfer business.

Burnley have confirmed that Scott Arfield has been allowed to enter talks with the Light Blues while it has also been widely reported that Hull goalkeeper Allan McGregor could be back at Ibrox soon as his deal at the KCOM Stadium ends in June.

Now Rangers fans are calling on Allen to go after Southampton midfielder Davis, who will be entering the final year of his deal at St Mary’s this summer and could be available if the club were to make an offer.

However the 33-year-old playmaker has still been a key part of the Saints first team this team, appearing 25 times in all competitions and scoring three goals as the south coast club aim to avoid relegation from the Premier League.

That has not stopped the Ibrox faithful from urging the club to go after the 101-times Northern Ireland international though, with one saying that Celtic captain Scott Brown “will have some competition” in the midfield if he is signed.
