'Got to be' - Rangers fans urge Murty to recall summer signing into squad

Portuguese defender Bruno Alves is set to make his comeback from a calf injury picked up in December’s Old Firm draw with Celtic – and Rangers fans want to see the veteran in the starting XI.
Russell Martin and David Bates have been the first-choice pairing since the Gers returned to action after the winter break but the impending return of Alves has seen a number of fans favour the 36-year-old to come back into the side.
With Fabio Cardoso in reserve and Ross McCrorie still to return to injury, Murty could drastically change his defence over the coming weeks.
After a Rangers fan site on Twitter ran a poll to find out who fans want to partner Bates in defence – Martin was the popular choice – many were calling for Alves’ return.
Here are some of their comments on Twitter:

Alves joined the Gers in the summer from Serie A side Cagliari with an eye on keeping his place in the Portuguese squad for this year’s World Cup in Russia.
The veteran defender has made 17 appearances in his time at Ibrox but has struggled with injuries forcing him to miss several weeks at a time.
Alves latest injury forced him to limp out of the Old Firm clash after only 17 minutes and miss the club’s trip to Florida during the winter break.
