Rangers file official documents as big-name exit confirmed
Rangers have confirmed Patrick Stewart has left his role as a director at Ibrox.
A Companies House submission on Wednesday (26 November) revealed Stewart’s position on the Rangers board has now been officially terminated.
Stewart joined Rangers as chief executive last December, but there have been several changes behind the scenes since his arrival in Glasgow.
In a statement on Monday (24 November) Rangers confirmed Kevin Thelwell would be leaving Ibrox alongside Stewart.
Rangers fans protested against Thelwell and Stewart in recent weeks, blaming them for the failed appointment of Russell Martin and their dealings in the transfer market.

Rangers set for leadership change after double sacking
Stewart had plenty of experience behind him when he made the move to Ibrox towards the end of last year.
The Aberdeen-born lawyer previously spent time working as Manchester United’s interim CEO following the departure of Richard Arnold in November 2023.
Stewart left the Premier League giants at the end of the 2023-24 season after spending 18 years at Old Trafford before taking up the role at Ibrox months later.
The Scotsman oversaw the sacking of Philippe Clement in February after a poor run of form, with former captain Barry Ferguson drafted in on an interim basis to steady the ship in the final few months of last season.
Questions were asked about Stewart’s position following Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises’ takeover of Rangers in May.
However, the new owners have now decided to part company with him as they look to move in a different direction.
Fraser Thornton has been appointed as interim CEO while a replacement is found.
Kevin Thelwell axed after Russell Martin disaster
Meanwhile, Thelwell’s name has been on the chopping block since Martin was sacked by Rangers last month, with the former sporting director playing a key role in that appointment.
It was confirmed earlier this year Thelwell would be leaving Everton following structural changes under their new ownership on Merseyside.
That led to the 52-year-old agreeing a move to Glasgow, with the US owners approving the deal following their arrival.
Martin’s disappointing brief tenure in charge, where he won just five of his 17 games, is believed to have been a significant factor behind Thelwell’s sacking.

Danny Rohl was appointed as Martin’s replacement last month and has started to turn things around at Ibrox, having won four of his opening seven games in charge.
Rangers have moved up to fifth in the Scottish Premiership table and are level on points with third-place Hibernian.
Rohl is now preparing his side to take on Braga in the Europa League on Thursday (27 November).
