Rangers get green light to seal Silas Andersen transfer after new admission
Rangers and Celtic are set to battle it out for the signing of FK Hacken star Silas Andersen this summer.
Supporters at Ibrox have become very familiar with the 21-year-old’s name, a centre-midfielder who has been lighting up the Swedish first division over the last two seasons.
Despite featuring in a deeper role at the Nordic Wellness Arena, the Danish international has notched eight goals and three assists across two seasons, becoming a well-sought-after talent.
Rangers are already active in the transfer market, signing star striker Lawrence Shankland on a free transfer from Hearts, and a couple more deals are already in the club’s crosshairs.

Celtic are also interested in Andersen, so the battle for the midfielder’s signature could get pretty competitive. What is clear, however, is that the Old Firm rivals have been given the go-ahead.
Interest in Hacken’s 21-year-old talent is ramping up, and those in Sweden seem to be accepting that he might not be around forever.
Speaking to FotbollSkanalen, Erik Friberg, the club’s sporting director, was asked about Andersen’s future, saying: “We will sell someone. We will. I can’t promise that Silas will stay. Nothing is clear yet; we’ll see where it goes.”

Those comments are bound to send alarm bells ringing back at Ibrox. If Rohl wanted any assurances that the Light Blues would seal his signature, this is it.
Danny Rohl uncertainty adds new dimension to summer deals
While Rohl has shown few signs of pushing for a move away this summer, rumours continue to circulate his future, which could put players off choosing the Light Blues.
The Gers will not want to miss out on Andersen, especially to their direct rivals, so a deal must be done as soon as possible. It does throw certain players’ futures into doubt, though.
Connor Barron is already struggling for minutes, and after missing out on Scotland’s World Cup squad, he could be searching for an exit. Bailey Rice is attracting interest from elsewhere, while Nico Raskin is expected to leave.
The squad could look entirely different from the 2025-26 campaign, and if the Gers are serious about reinvesting into the team, they will strike a deal for Andersen before Celtic beat them to the punch.
