Rangers January signing admits problems adjusting to life at Ibrox

Rangers January signing Greg Docherty has admitted he’s finding it hard to adjust to life on Ibrox after being a fan all of his life.
It was a dream move for Docherty after spending his youth on the terraces watching Rangers with his friends.
And he admits that it is very strange now that he’s lining up for the team and that it will take some getting used to.
Docherty joined for a fee of around £700,000 in January from Hamilton and has made three cameo appearances in the Premiership.
He also played the full 90 minutes in the 6-1 thrashing of Ayr United in the Scottish Cup.
But, talking to RangersTV as quoted by the Daily Record, Docherty admits that he is still adjusting to his new life at Ibrox.
“It’s still a bit weird when my friends talk to me about Rangers and they say ‘it’s so weird that you’re a Rangers player now as well’ and they can’t ask me too much now and I can’t tell them too much now and stuff like that,” Docherty said.
“It’s funny when you see all the forums and all that and they ask me if it is true or not and I’m like I can’t say, I need to keep my distance a wee bit so it’s now trying to gauge that distance between being a fan and being a player as well and obviously I’ve got my professional head on cause I’m now a player.”
“A lot of people stare more. Younger people do it, I mean I used to do it, I used to stare at the team so it’s weird in that sense that people are staring at you.
“Not many people come up to me but I can definitely see people double taking at me if I’m just walking past or that so that’ll take a bit of getting used to but again it’s quite funny.”
Docherty is already a hit with the Rangers fans and they’ll be hoping that he can make the adjustments quickly and start bringing the side of the game that made Graeme Murty take the plunge in the transfer market.
