Rangers key man issues response to reported Celtic interest

Rangers key man Emerson Hyndman insists he is only focused on his current club, amid reported interest from Old Firm rivals Celtic.
Hyndman,20, has impressed since arriving at Ibrox in the January transfer window, contributing four goals and three assists from only 12 appearances in all competitions, even catching the eye of their closest rivals.
Rodgers wants to add more quality to his midfield this summer as he bids to transform Celtic’s remarkable Scottish Premiership success into a European challenge next term.
But Hyndman refuses to be distracted by the speculation linking him with a move to the newly-crowned Scottish champions, insisting he is only focused on the job at hand with his current club.

Rangers face a battle to eat up the ground on Aberdeen in the battle to finish second behind Celtic, with the Ibrox side already at a 10 point disadvantage, which warrants Hyndman and his team-mates’ full attention.
Asked about the speculation, Hyndman told the Daily Record: “I’m focused on the moment and trying to enjoy myself and help the team get wins.
““Why can’t we still get second place? The game up at Aberdeen is a big game anyway. They are a big club and we know it’s a difficult place to go.
“But we want to control the ball from the beginning and have a positive start.
“Some of our second half attacking play against Motherwell was good, albeit we didn’t get the finishing touch but that will happen on another day.”
His tight-lipped response is far from the unexpected, as a move to welcome the interest from Celtic would incur the wrath of the Rangers fans throughout the remainder of his spell.
But he is still keeping his options open, with no guarantees set in place for him next season.
With the USA international midfielder expected to return to Bournemouth at the end of the season, it is unclear what the future holds for him at the Premier League club.
He was permitted to join Rangers on loan due to a lack of first team opportunities, and that will still be the most pressing issue for him next season.
Therefore, Celtic hope that they can negotiate an immediate return to Scotland for the promising young midfielder, which of course be a hugely unpopular move in the eyes of Rangers fans.
In other Rangers transfer news, Graeme Murty has urged this Rangers youngster to stay at Ibrox this summer.
