Kieran Maguire hails Rangers as 'premium' Ibrox development announced

Rangers are free to charge commercial partners premium prices after the introduction of new mid-tier advertising spaces at Ibrox.

That is according to finance guru and Football Insider columnist Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively after Rangers announced the introduction of the LED system on 28th May.

DAM Health became the first new sponsor to sign up after the introduction of the state-of-the-art facility on 3rd June.

Rangers boast that they are the only team in Scotland to have mid-tier LED displays on all four sides of the ground.

The club explains that the system allows companies to increase brand awareness with “millions watching the action from Ibrox in over 125 global markets.”

And Maguire claimed that Rangers have displayed good business sense in introducing the facility at Ibrox.

He told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams: “It absolutely makes sense to use the space you have available for this kind of thing.

“The commercial partners are going to pay a premium for this because it makes it more visible from a TV viewer’s perspective.

“Normally, when you have the LED adverts you pay for them in 30-second slots.

“They will now be able to charge a fair bit more and squeeze more from what they have at their disposal.”

Rangers’ sponsors will have increased visibility at Ibrox next season if Steve Gerrard’s side progress to the Champions League group stages.

They will enter the competition at the penultimate qualifying round in early August.
