Rangers must resist Bojan Miovski sale urge as stats highlight Ibrox importance
Rangers must do everything they can to avoid a sale of Bojan Miovski after the striker netted his fifth league goal of the season in Saturday’s 4-2 win over Dundee United.
The North Macedonian hasn’t enjoyed the impact that many people were expecting when he made the switch to Ibrox in the latter stages of the summer transfer window, and that has seen his future in Glasgow called into question at times.
He managed 26 goals for Aberdeen during his last campaign in Scottish football, and his strike in the Gers’ latest win saw him break into double figures in 2025-26 in all competitions.
Miovski has had to remain patient in recent months, with Danny Rohl often preferring to start Youssef Chermiti and Ryan Naderi at the top of the pitch of late.
Rangers will want to add to their attack in the summer, but they must ensure that Miovksi doesn’t head in the other direction, as he still has plenty left to give at Ibrox.

Football Insider revealed back in February that Miovski may push to leave Rangers in the summer, due to frustrations regarding the lack of regular gametime that he has received.
The 26-year-old has struggled to find consistency since his £4.2million move from Spanish side Girona last summer, and he has seen several bright spells fail to take off and burst into a genuine run of goalscoring form.
| Stats | Miovski | Chermiti | Naderi |
| Apps (Starts) | 25 (13) | 24 (14) | 8 (5) |
| Goals | 5 | 9 | 1 |
| Goals per 90 | 0.39 | 0.57 | 0.2 |
| xG | 4.36 | 8.85 | 2.71 |
| Shots on Target % | 57.1% | 47.2% | 46.6% |
| Conversion Rate | 17.9% | 17% | 6.7% |
With that in mind, Rangers could easily be tempted to try and find an escape route for him ahead of next season, so they can try and recoup some of their initial outlay on him.
However, his goal against Dundee United was yet more evidence that patience is needed with him, as Miovski could yet become a very useful player.
He currently boasts the strongest conversion rate of any Rangers striker, while he is also the strongest attacker when it comes to the percentage of his shots that find the target.
Miovski is also currently outscoring his xG, which further highlights the idea that was built up during his time at Aberdeen that he is a very capable finisher if provided with the opportunities.
Rohl will surely want Rangers to become a little more creative with their play next season, and if that is the case, then must fight the urge to sell Miovski, who is an out-and-out poacher in the box.
Joe Gelhardt move won’t affect Miovski
Rangers are lining up a summer swoop for Joe Gelhardt at the moment, as they are keen to try and prise the Leeds youngster away from Elland Road.
The 23-year-old has struck 13 league goals during his latest loan spell at Hull City, and he could now be set to move north of the border permanently this summer, if the Gers’ recruitment team get their way.
The possibility of Gelhardt’s arrival could have had Rangers’ established striker trio fearing for their places, but the reality is that Miovski and Co. are unlikely to be negatively affected by a deal.
Gelhardt has spent large parts of the campaign operating behind a central striker, either in an attacking midfield or a wide role, where he has provided both a goal and a creative threat.
With that in mind, any move to bring him in would provide another different weapon to Rohl’s attacking options, rather than replacing someone who is already in the building.
