Rangers must tie down attacking revelation down after resurgence in form

COMMENT
Portuguese winger Daniel Candeias’ arrival in Scotland left many fans scratching their head over who the journeyman signing was but since joining Rangers from Benfica the 29-year-old has proven all of his doubters wrong.
The right winger has been a revelation for the Gers since arriving from Benfica over the summer and after only signing a two-year deal with the Ibrox giants tying the in-form star down a little bit longer should be high on the list of priorities for manager Graeme Murty and director of football Mark Allen.
Candeias has been one of the most effective attacking players in the Scottish Premiership with 6 assists and 3 goals in 25 appearances in the league so far this season.
Candeias’ understanding down the right flank with James Tavernier has been a hallmark of the Gers’ attacking play this season and given the Ibrox side some real penetration when going forward against tightly packed defences.
Of all the signings that arrived at Ibrox over the summer, only Alfredo Morelos could be argued as a better signing than Candeias so far and as the Gers finally look as though they are headed in the right direction, keeping their best players should be paramount.
With a potent strike force in Morelos and Jason Cummings, Candeias’ contribution could be even more impressive over the second-half of his debut season in Scottish football.
In other Rangers news, it can be revealed that a key first teamer has sensationally asked to leave after the board failed to stick to their promise of giving him a new deal during the transfer window.
