Rangers: Oliver Antman nightmare continues as Gers star anyonmous for Finland in loss vs Cape Verde
Rangers winger Oliver Antman has seen his recent struggles continue with another toothless display on the international stage.
The Gers star played 72 minutes of Finland’s 1-1 draw with Cape Verde on Monday, before his side were eventually defeated by the African outfit on penalties.
The 24-year-old has been a key player for his country in recent years, but his poor form has continued into the latest round of international games, as he was also quiet in his team’s victory over New Zealand last week.
Antman was an expensive outlay for Rangers when they splashed out around £3.5million to sign him from Go Ahead Eagles back in August, but things haven’t gone to plan for him at all at Ibrox.
Rangers return to Scottish Premiership action against Dundee United next weekend, and Antman is expected to remain on the fringes of the group for that clash.

Antman has really struggled to make an impact for Rangers since his move at the end of last summer, as he managed just six starts in the Premiership so far this term.
He has been firmly out of favour since Danny Rohl’s arrival as manager, with Djeidi Gassama and Mikey Moore often preferred to start on the wings.

The international break has provided Antman with a rare opportunity to remind his club boss of exactly what he is capable of, but it was an opportunity that he squandered once again on Monday.
He enjoyed just 25 touches throughout his 72 minutes on the pitch, and failed to create from his right wing-back role, as he fashioned zero chances, and failed to complete a successful dribble or fire a single shot.
Antman also lost over 50 per cent of his duels, as he turned in a performance that would have had Rohl inwardly justifying the lack of football that he has given to him in recent months.
It was not the sort of display that is likely to have your club manager sit up and take notice, and it quickly became a case of Antman’s Ibrox nightmare continuing in different surroundings.
Rangers to re-assess Antman situation in the summer
Football Insider revealed back in January that Rangers were reluctant to sell Antman during the winter window, as they prepared for the run-in towards the end of the season.
Rohl and Co. had no intention of weakening their group in the middle of their title pursuit, but it could easily be a different story for them at the end of the campaign.
Antman is firmly down the pecking order at Ibrox at the moment, and he is sure to be eating up a significant wage given the outlay that was needed to secure his signature last summer.
Rangers will undoubtedly be keen to bring in new faces to refresh their squad in the summer, and they will likely need to free up money in order to do so effectively.
Antman is a player who is of little use to Rohl at the moment, but would also command a fee and reduce the wage bill.
Rangers may have been intent on keeping him around during the mid-season window, but it could be a totally different story this summer.
