Rangers owners bankroll £20m injection – official documents filed

Rangers have received a £20million injection from their owners in the form of a new share issue, sources have told Football Insider.

As per a Companies House submission on 30 June, the club’s holding company Rangers International Football Club Limited has issued 100 million shares.

Each share was purchased at 20 pence per one pence share, taking the total investment to £20million.

It comes after Rangers’ new owners committed to investing £20million after agreeing to purchase a majority stake at Ibrox.

The Scottish giants announced on 30 May the US consortium has completed its takeover after receiving the approval of the Scottish FA.

The ownership group is spearheaded by health insurance tycoon Andrew Cavenagh and Leeds United chairman Paraag Marathe, who is the president of 49ers Enterprises – the investment arm of NFL franchise the San Francisco 49ers.

Rangers officially confirmed five new appointments last month, with Marathe and Cavenagh joined by Mark Taber, Eugene Schneur and Andrew Clayton on the board at Ibrox.
