Rangers moved to within three points of second placed Aberdeen with a comfortable 2-0 win over Partick Thistle at Firhill.
The first two chances of the game fell to Partick Thistle, with Conor Sammon being denied by a Wes Foderingham save, before the same player fired a shot past the post.
The Gers then should have scored when Russell Martin headed a free header from a Sean Goss free-kick wide of goal.
The Light Blues took the lead in the 39th minute when fine play by Cummings and Candeias set up Windass who hammered the ball into the top corner of the net for his 10th goal of the season.
Sammon then came very close to equalising with a shot which hit the post and rolled along the penalty box before being cleared.
The Gers had a good early chance in the second-half, Murphy setting up Tavernier whose effort was saved by Cerny.
The right back then hammered home the Light Blues’ second goal of the game after a one-two with Windass in the 59th minute, to complete the scoring.
The Gers were comfortable throughout the rest of the game as they eased to victory.
