Rangers player ratings v St Johnstone: Senior quartet 4/10 after Ibrox disaster

COMMENT

Rangers lost the opportunity to make ground on Celtic and Aberdeen at the top of the Scottish Premiership as they slumped to a 3-1 defeat to St Johnstone at Ibrox on Saturday.

The Gers had the perfect start to the game, taking the lead thanks to an Alfredo Morelos goal after only five minutes of the game, as he took a through ball from Ryan Jack and rifled the ball into the net.

St Johnstone equalised just five minutes later with Blair Alston hammering a shot home from around 20 yards.

There were no further chances in the second-half, as Rangers found it difficult to break down a resolute St Johnstone defence.

The second-half started similarly slowly until the Perth side took the lead in the 61st minute, Denny Johnstone heading home a free header.

Ten minutes later it was 3-1, substitute Graham Cummins scoring with a shot from just outside the penalty box.

Despite making a few changes Graeme Murty was unable to make any difference to the game, as the Gers suffered yet another poor result at home.

Here, Football Insider rates the Gers out of 10 for how they played against St Johnstone, including a quartet of senior players who picked up shocking marks.
