'Fair play Pedro Caixinha' - Rangers rave about player for performance v Partick

By James Black

Rangers defender Ross McCrorie scored his first goal for the Ibrox giants in Saturday’s Scottish Premiership 3-0 win against Partick Thistle at Ibrox – and Gers fans are delighted for the young defender.

McCrorie got on the end of a cross from Daniel Candeias to head the ball home and give the Gers a 1-0 first-half lead which paved the way for a second win-in-a-row since Pedro Caixinha was sacked.

The 19-year-old was recently thrust into the senior side after a number of defensive injuries and the Rangers Academy graduate has impressed since making his first-team debut.

McCrorie and Danny Wilson started together at the heart of Rangers’ defence for the second consecutive game – keeping Portuguese European Championship winner Bruno Alves on the bench.

Fans were delighted to see the homegrown talent grab his first goal for the club with one thanking Caixinha for bringing him into the first-team.

McCrorie was recently called up for international duty with Scotland Under-21 to cap off a fantastic six week spell for the now-former Rangers Under-20’s captain.

The young defender spent the second-half of last season loan with Scottish Championship side Dumbarton where he impressed fans in a number of positions before returning to Ibrox in the summer.

In other Rangers news, an Ibrox legend was delighted to see Kenny Miller back in the starting XI.
