Rangers ready to bag ‘big profit’ on Youssef Chermiti with summer sale, PSV want him
Rangers will only consider the sale of striker Youssef Chermiti for a “big profit” this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
The 21-year-old star has attracted interest from PSV Eindhoven of late, as the Eredivisie outfit have got the Gers man firmly “on their radar” ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
The Dutch giants have identified the Portuguese as an ideal candidate to come in and strengthen their attacking options, but sources have indicated that their interest has not progressed beyond the initial stages so far.
Rangers shelled out an initial £8million to sign Chermiti from Everton last summer, and they are prepared to stand in the way of any potential exit for him, unless the chance appears to make a significant amount of money.
The frontman is the leading goalscorer for the club in the Scottish Premiership this season, and the possibility of moving him on is not part of Rangers’ current transfer plans.

Chermiti has faced his fair share of criticism since his move north of the border, but supporters have begun to take to the youngster in recent months.
The starlet has quickly gained a reputation at Ibrox for being the man for the big occasion, as eight of his nine league goals so far this term have come against fellow title challengers Hearts and Celtic.

He has netted a brace in each of the last two Old Firm derbies in the league, and is set to play a crucial role in Danny Rohl’s plans as the boss prepares for the all-important league split.
Rohl has frequently relied upon Chermiti to lead the line since his arrival in the dugout, and with that in mind, he is simply seen as being too important to sell this summer.
The German has an ambitious long-term vision for where he wants to take the Gers in the coming years, and his first-choice striker is lined up to be a key part of those plans.
The only way that Rangers’ stance regarding a sale will change is if huge money is put on the table, but at the moment, PSV are still far from reaching the stage where they are ready to make an offer.
Rangers to exploit 49ers for new striker deal
Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider earlier this week that Rangers want to exploit the 49ers’ ownership to sign Joe Gelhardt from Leeds this summer.
The Ibrox chiefs also own the Premier League outfit, and they are hopeful that it will give them the edge when it comes to negotiations for Gelhardt this summer.
The 23-year-old forward has enjoyed a highly productive loan spell with Hull City, notching 13 goals and four assists so far this term, and he looks set to be on the move this summer.
Leeds appear ready to potentially sell the former Wigan Athletic man at the end of the season, with little chance of him breaking into their first-team squad if they survive in the Premier League.
Several clubs are expected to be interested in the youngster this summer, but it is Rangers who are set to hold a crucial advantage.
