Rangers summer signing confirms he wants to stay at Ibrox for next season
Rangers winger Daniel Candeias has revealed that the “stability” provided by his move to Ibrox has been a big reason for his stellar form since joining the Glasgow giants last summer.
Candeias has been arguably the Gers’ best signing of last summer scoring five times and creating nine assists in 33 games for the Light Blues.
The Portuguese winger has had a host of loan spells before joining the Gers from Benfica including stints in Germany, Spain, France an Turkey.
Candeias has now confirmed that he does not want a short stint at Ibrox and wants to spend at least another season in Glasgow.
“I have moved about a lot because the big teams in Portugal always send out their players on loan,” Candeias said, as quoted by the Sunday Post.
“Now I am settled at Rangers, and that stability is important for me.
“I’m very happy here, and, normally, you play your best football when you are settled.
“I want to stay here for more than one season.”
Candeias was responsible for creating one the the Gers two goals in Saturday’s 2-0 win over Heart when his cross fell perfectly for Russell Martin to poke the ball home in the final few minutes.
The 30-year-old signed a two-year deal when he joined Rangers from Benfica for £750,000 last year but has proven to be an absolute steal for the Gers.
The winger has built a fantastic understanding with James Tavernier down the right flank and the Portuguese winger has been a huge factor in the full-back’s much-improved performances so far this season.
