Continued Rangers defender absence is huge worry for club

Ross McCrorie’s foot injury that has kept him out of action since the turn of the year looks like it has derailed his entire season – but the lack of information from Rangers has left some scratching their head.

McCrorie hasn’t been seen in the side since before new year and has no time set on when he is due to return to the squad after making the breakthrough into the first-team in September.

The 19-year-old’s emergence has been the biggest plus of the season so far in what can only be called a rollercoaster season for the Ibrox support.

McCrorie had made himself an automatic pick prior to his injury and while the Gers have managed to cover his absence – and quite impressively too thanks to the form of Sean Goss and Greg Docherty – there is still big questions over the Scotland Under-21 international’s fitness.

Ryan Jack and Graham Dorrans have both had lengthy lay-offs in recent months after suffering set-backs in their recovery from injury, with McCrorie’s following a similar pattern.

Hopefully, the Gers star can get back to fitness as quickly as possible for Graeme Murty’s side and re-establish himself as a key part of the side sooner rather than later.
