Rangers to accept offers for star duo, one has already agreed terms – sources
Rangers will accept significant offers for James Tavernier and Connor Goldson and they could both be gone before the new season starts, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the Glasgow club need to sell players before they can buy, with the experienced duo at the top of the list.
This comes after Philippe Clement explained that every player at Rangers is up for sale as they look to raise money and reinvest in the transfer market.
With pressure mounting on Rangers to close the gap on Celtic, new signings are needed at Ibrox to increase the strength of their squad.
Rangers to cash in on James Tavernier and Connor Goldson
Tavernier and Goldson have been at Rangers since 2015 and 2018 respectively, making a combined 769 appearances for the club.
Both defenders have been heavily linked with moves away from Ibrox in the summer transfer window amid interest from Saudi Pro League clubs.
English League One side Birmingham City have also been credited with an interest in Goldson as Football Insider revealed that a contract has already been discussed with his camp.
However, no formal bids have arrived yet for either player despite Clement’s willingness to let them leave should interest be made official.
The willingness to let their club captain and an experienced squad member leave shows the situation the club have landed themselves in as financial issues continue to rack up.

After falling short of Celtic in the league and Scottish Cup final last season, fans are growing impatient and the need for improvements to the squad has become clear.
As a result, Clement is willing to let any player leave for the right price and moves for Tavernier and Goldson may finally materialise.
