Paddy Kenny makes 'high calibre' Rangers transfer prediction amid revealing Lundstram remarks
Steven Gerrard will continue to attract a “high calibre” of player to Rangers following the capture of John Lundstram.
That is according to Sheffield United legend Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about comments made by the 27-year-old midfielder after his move from South Yorkshire was finalised.
“The chance to work with Steven Gerrard and Gary McAllister, as well as Michael Beale, was a huge draw,” he told the club’s website on 5th July.
Ibrox manager Gerrard meanwhile said: “He will add steel and presence to our midfield along with his quality.”
Liverpool-born Lundstram, who was released by United in May, signed a three-year deal after spending five years at Bramall Lane.
Kenny predicts that Gerrard will continue to have a major influence in luring top-class signings to Rangers.

“It [Lundstram remarks] is encouraging, of course,” he told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams.
“You expect that when it’s Steven Gerrard. We know what he’s achieved as a player and now as a manager. He’s just that sort of person.
“You know full well that anyone who signs for Rangers is going to come out and say nice things about the manager.
“It bodes well for Rangers, no doubt about that. It’s good that he is going to attract a high calibre of player in the future.“
Lundstram graduated from Everton’s academy in 2013 before signing for Oxford United in 2015.
He joined the Blades two years later and made 120 appearances across a five-year stretch.
