Rangers transfer can be stepping stone for Sunderland’s Finn Geragusian to earn ‘big move’ after Ibrox
Rangers can be a stepping stone for 18-year-old Finn Geragusian to earn a move back to the Premier League in the future.
That is according to ex-Aberdeen, Aston Villa, and Everton chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, as Rangers look to sign Geragusian when his scholarship contract at Sunderland expires in the summer.
The Gers face competition from the likes of Nottingham Forest for the forward, who has recently earned a call-up to the Armenian national team.
Rangers have often signed players in the English leagues, with 18-year-old Mikey Moore benefitting from a loan spell from Tottenham this season.
Danny Rohl is expected to continue building his Rangers squad in the summer transfer window, after the German was active in strengthening his ranks in January in a bid to win the Scottish Premiership title.

Aberdeen’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Pittodrie between 2000 and 2004, had lengthy spells as the chief of Everton and Aston Villa and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes Geragusian’s agent could be pushing for the player to move to Rangers.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness believes the teenager would benefit from playing in the Scottish league.

He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “As his agent, I’d be saying, ‘yes, this could be a great platform to put me in a showcase for a couple of seasons or even one season and then get the big move’.
“So that may be the strategy that they’re looking at. The success that I’ve seen in Scotland has tended to be players coming from lower leagues, slightly older, about the 23 to 24 mark, coming in and then making a reputation for themselves, and then moving at about 26.
“That seems to be a very interesting route, but certainly, there is room for the younger talent to come in and showcase themselves. Look, the Scottish league is a tough league, it’s a real league, and the good news is for them that the scouts from the Premier League clubs can get up easily, and the grapevines are very good between them and the Glasgow clubs.
“Rangers can get him.”
Rangers in pursuit of new striker
Sources have told Football Insider that Rangers are exploring a summer move for striker Philippe Keny from Swiss side FC Zurich.
The Gers would have to pay between £4million and £6m for Keny, who is also attracting attention from the likes of Coventry and Wrexham.
The 26-year-old has scored 12 goals in 25 appearances in the Swiss Super League this season, and has previous pedigree in Turkey and France.
