Rangers valuation of Kamara has 'shot up' after source's 'huge' contract reveal - pundit
Kevin Phillips has claimed Glen Kamara’s is now “a major asset” for Rangers after signing a new four-year deal.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the 2000 European Golden Shoe winner said the 25-year-old’s contract renewal is “a huge boost” for the club as his price tag has “shot up” as a result.
The Gers announced on September 22nd that the Finland international had put pen to paper on a deal that will run until May 2025.
The midfielder’s previous agreement with the Scottish Premiership champions was set to expire in the summer of 2023.
However, as revealed by Football Insider (September 23), the club could still cash in on Kamara, with a mutual agreement in place that he will leave for a certain price.
Phillips applauded the “sensible business” from all parties involved.

“Kamara is a major asset now,” he told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs.
“It is great that he wanted to sign a new deal. It is a huge boost for Rangers and Stevie G.
“Financially, it’s fantastic for the club. His price tag has shot up now that he’s on a four-year deal. He will be worth a few quid.
“If he continues to play like he has been then Rangers have got a real asset in the bank. It is sensible business from everybody involved.
“He’s a player that will help them challenge for trophies this season. It’s a big, big boost for the football club.”
