Rangers will accept £20m Nico Raskin offer amid ‘huge’ reveal

Rangers won’t reject a £20million offer for Nicolas Raskin as they aim to make a “huge” profit from his sale.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed what sources have told him about the 24-year-old’s future.

European giants Porto, Marseille and Fiorentina have recently joined the race to sign the midfielder and could be prepared to test the Glasgow club’s resolve.

This comes after former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Raskin is wanted by multiple Premier League clubs should he leave Rangers.

Newly-appointed manager Russell Martin is keen to keep his best players at Ibrox this summer, but is also aware the decision may be taken out of his hands.

This comes after Football Insider exclusively revealed in March that Leeds United could sign Raskin with help from 49ers Enterprises after their Ibrox takeover.

Rangers set £20million price tag amid Nicolas Raskin interest

Despite the recently-completed takeover by 49ers Enterprises, there is a growing feeling that significant offers for their key players could be difficult to turn down.

The transfer plan in place at Ibrox would see the club sign players for a cheap fee, develop them at the club, and sell for a significant profit.

O’Rourke has explained that cashing in on Raskin this summer would see a continuation of those plans, and allow them to reinvest the fee into the first-team squad.

It won’t come as a surprise that there is interest in Raskin,” he told Football Insider.

“Some Premier League clubs are looking at him, the Portuguese giants Porto and also some interest from Marseille and Fiorentina who have been monitoring his situation.

“For Russell Martin, he’ll be looking to keep hold of his best players.

“He will be well aware that if there is a lucrative offer for Raskin, it may be taken out of his hands and the club may have to accept it to balance the books.

“Nicolas Raskin is under contract at Ibrox until 2027, so they’re sure to have their resolve tested.

“Rangers’ model is to develop and sell talent for profit, and it would be a huge profit if they were to sell Raskin, they’re looking for anything in excess of £20million.

“Russell Martin, in an ideal world, would want to keep Raskin and build his team around him.

“But we know money talks.”

Mohamed Diomande update emerges amid Russell Martin claim

Alongside Raskin, Mohamed Diomande has also been linked with a move away from Ibrox this summer amid interest from Premier League sides.

Brown told Football Insider on 10 June that Martin plans to keep Diomande at Rangers beyond the transfer window despite the growing speculation.

Everton are among the clubs eyeing a potential summer deal, but the manager with the backing of the new owners have no intention of letting him go.

This comes after Football Insider revealed on 6 June that Rangers will reject offers for Diomande as the new boss is planning to build his squad around him.
