Ranieri responds to speculation Mahrez could be joining Arsenal
By Alex Taylor
Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has denied that Arsenal are interested in signing Riyad Mahrez.
The PFA Player of the Year has been linked with a move to north London for much of this summer, with The Sun claiming Arsenal had tabled a £35million bid for the 25-year-old sensation.
Ranieri has fielded questions on the future of his star man even before the departure of N’Golo Kante to Chelsea, but has now stated that Arsenal are not interested in signing the forward.
“I don’t know, who is interested?” Ranieri told the Evening Standard. “Tell me if there is one. Arsenal? No. Riyad will stay with us.”
Mahrez was the star of the show as Leicester shocked the football world to win the Premier League title last season.
