Ray Wilkins delivers Tottenham verdict after West Brom victory

By Dominic Toner

Ray Wilkins claims that Tottenham look “very strong” following their win against West Brom in the Premier League.

Spurs recorded a comfortable 4-0 victory at White Hart Lane on Saturday and they have moved up to second in the league table.

Harry Kane stole the show with a stunning hat-trick, while Gareth McAuley netted an unfortunate own goal.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side have emerged as serious title contenders in recent weeks and will now be hoping to close the seven-point gap to league leaders Chelsea.

Sky Sports pundit Wilkins believes that Spurs were in great form during their win against West Brom and have several talented players.

“They look very strong and I really enjoy watching Spurs play,” Wilkins said, as quoted by Sky Sports’ website. “They have so much talent – the demolition of Chelsea was a bit better than the 2-0 scoreline suggested. And they were excellent again on Saturday.”

Spurs are currently in a purple patch of form and have won their last seven consecutive games across all competitions.

The north London club were thrilled by their 2-0 victory against Chelsea recently and are one of the in-form teams in the division.

They have benefited hugely from a switch to a 3-4-3 formation and it has allowed the likes of Kane, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen the freedom to attack.

Pochettino’s side have also managed to maintain their strong defensive base and they have the best record in the Premier League, conceding just 14 goals in 21 matches.

Spurs will be hoping to continue the good run and they face Manchester City in their next game, who were humiliated in a 4-0 defeat to Everton at the weekend.
