Rayan Cherki, Brennan Johnson respond to Mathys Tel’s message away from Tottenham
Mathys Tel caught the attention of Man City and Liverpool stars as the Tottenham star took to social media while away on international duty.
The 20-year-old forward has been away with the France Under-21s team at the Euro U21 tournament in Slovakia, helping his side to seal a spot in the semi-finals on Sunday, 22 June.
He scored the all-important winner during a dramatic 3-2 win over Denmark, just one minute after Quentin Merlin’s equaliser, having also scored in a 3-2 victory against Georgia.
France U21s are now set to face Germany on Wednesday, 25 June, with England U21s and Netherlands U21s facing off in the other semi-final, and the player has been attracting plenty of viewers.
Having arrived in North London on a six-month loan in January, Tel has now joined Tottenham on a permanent basis, signing from Bayern Munich ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

Taking to Instagram (23 June), Tel wrote: “From the first to the last minute. Heading to the semi-finals,” with Dominic Solanke replying to the post with clapping emojis.
Brennan Johnson, Man City’s Rayan Cherki, Liverpool’s Ryan Gravenberch, Borussia Dortmund’s Serhou Guirassy, and PSG’s loanee Randal Kolo Muani all liked the post.
Thomas Frank to trust youth in North London
Football Insider news
Thomas Frank has a very difficult campaign ahead of him after replacing Ange Postecoglou, with Spurs finishing 17th in the Premier League last season, one spot above the relegation zone.
Despite an awful league campaign, the Lilywhites will be playing Champions League football after winning the Europa League title, and the team’s success is exactly why so many are disappointed by the change in manager.
A toxicity within the Tottenham squad looks to have emerged following Daniel Levy’s cut-throat decision, and that will only add to Frank’s difficulties amid several links with high-profile summer exits.

Football Insider understands that Tottenham could accept an early offer for Son Heung-min, with Cristian Romero, Yves Bissouma, Richarlison, and Dejan Kulusevski all linked with exits.
This could leave the likes of Archie Gray, Destiny Udogie, Lucas Bergvall, and Wilson Odobert all to star next season, with Frank used to working with much smaller, cheaper squads.
The Danish figure achieved a lot of success during his time with the Bees, but the move to North London will be a whole other challenge for the 51-year-old.
