‘Abomination’, ‘Donkey’ – Celtic fans slaughter 27-yr-old for performance v Rangers

Celtic fans on Twitter have slaughtered Dedryck Boyata after his mistake allowed Josh Windass to open the scoring for Rangers in the Old Firm derby, which ended 3-2 to the Hoops.

The Belgian centre-back was caught in possession by Windass after only three minutes, who hammered the ball past Scott Bain.

Unsurprisingly fans were furious with the 27-year-old’s mistake, with one calling him ‘a donkey’.

Here are some of the best reactions from Twitter to Boyata’s mistake:

Boyata made his return from injury in the Old Firm derby, after suffering an injury against Kilmarnock last month which had kept him out of action for over a month.

The player made a poor start to his career with the Hoops, and his time at the club looked to be over after a dreadful performance in the 2016 Scottish Cup semi-final against Rangers.

However, Brendan Rodgers liked the look of the player and he played a huge part in the Bhoys clinching their first domestic treble since 2001.

The player will no doubt continue to be involved with the first-team as the Hoops aim to win a second consecutive domestic treble, but unless he ups his game he will find himself on the bench behind the likes of Marvin Compper and Jack Hendry.
