'Looks the real deal' - Celtic fans rave about attacker after win v Hamilton (not Roberts)

By James Black

After joining Celtic on a season-long loan from Paris Saint-Germain, Odsonne Edouard grabbed a debut goal for Celtic against Hamilton and Hoops supporters were delighted – with fans believing his performance “deserved” a goal.

The 19-year-old put in an impressive shift in his first outing in the hoops and Brendan Rodgers will no doubt have been pleased to see his new signing get off to a goal-scoring start to his Celtic career.

With Moussa Dembele and Leigh Griffiths possibly fit for the visit of PSG, Edouard will have done his chances of a start against his parent club no harm.

French attacker Edouard linked up well with his new team-mates and took his first goal fantastically.

As Celtic fans laud their new striker, we took a look at the reaction to his debut goal on social media.

Celtic went on to secure a 4-1 win over Martin Canning’s Accies with a double from Scott Sinclair and goals from Edouard and Stuart Armstong as the Hoops returned to the top of the Scottish Premiership table.

Edouard spent last season on loan at Ligue 1 side Toulouse and has already matched his goal tally for last term after one appearance.

The Frenchman will now be eager to get a chance to play against his parent club in midweek and show exactly what he is capable of at the highest level.

Edouard wasn’t the only attacker making his debut against Hamilton, with Patrick Roberts also making his return.

In other Celtic news, Chris Sutton predicted the clash with the Accies.
