Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor has revealed that he has been “really impressed” with 20-year-old shot-stopper Robby McCrorie during the Gers ten-day training camp in Spain.
McGregor returned to the Gers this summer after six years away from Ibrox and thinks the home-grown starlet has “everything about him” to be a success.
The Scotland international also believes McCrorie will “do really well” as he continues his career and pushes for the number one jersey at Ibrox.
“He has everything about him and I am sure he will do really well in his career.”
Football Insider verdict:
McCrorie is destined to follow his twin Ross into the first-team at Ibrox before too long and working with the likes of McGregor will only help him continue to develop. The Scotland Under-21 international really impressed last season while on loan at Berwick and another temporary move this season is likely as the 20-year-old tries to establish himself. With McGregor, Wes Foderingham and Jak Alnwick ahead of him in the pecking order currently, McCrorie is going to find it difficult to get games at Ibrox in the short-term and a loan move would make sense for both the club and McCrorie. It won’t be that long though before both Robby and Ross are mainstays in the starting XI at Ibrox. Both will have massive futures at Ibrox and Robby could have an even bigger impact on the side than Ross.
