Celtic 27-yr-old comments about new deal will send fans into meltdown

COMMENT

Recent comments made by Celtic forward Leigh Griffiths are sure to send the Hoops supporters into meltdown.

The 27-year-old, who has just returned from a lengthy injury lay-off, revealed, as quoted by the Daily Record, that talks had begun on a new contract extension for the player, and that he wants to stay at Parkhead ‘for life’.

The comments will be great news for Hoops fans, who will see that unlike many players who stay with the Scottish champions only for a few seasons as a stepping stone, Griffiths wants to stay with the Hoops for the long haul.

Griffiths has been an excellent signing for the Bhoys since he joined the Hoops in February 2014. He has scored 97 goals for the Bhoys, and so far this season has 12 goals, and he was in excellent form until his groin injury struck.

The Scottish international is very good option to have for Brendan Rodgers, as he has always been a very consistent goalscorer for the Hoops, scoring at least 15 goals in his last three seasons with the Bhoys.

It is always good to have a consistent goalscorer in your ranks, and Griffiths is certainly one of those, and Hoops fans will demand that the club gets the contract extension sorted as soon as possible.
