Redknapp compares 'brilliant' Tottenham player to Cristiano Ronaldo

Jamie Redknapp has compared Christian Eriksen’s technique in Tottenham’s only goal of the game against Crystal Palace to Real Madrid ace Cristiano Ronaldo.
Eriksen, 25, struck in the 78th minute with a ‘knuckleball’ goal that flew into the bottom corner past Palace goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey to earn a narrow 1-0 victory at Selhurst Park.
Speaking to Sky Sports 1’s live coverage of the match (Wednesday, 7.30pm), Redknapp claimed Eriksen was a “class act” and compared his goal to the type of technique that Ronaldo uses.
“He is class act. He knows he’s go that bit of space when he hits it. It is a brilliant strike, he is so unassuming. When he won man of the match, he asked ‘is it me?’” Redknapp said.
“It’s a technique that Cristiano Ronaldo and lots of other players do, it’s a brilliant technique because it gets that dip. A brilliant effort from a brilliant player.”

Eriksen’s 12th goal of the season came as a huge sigh of relief for Spurs, as Mauricio Pochettino’s side had been frustrated by Crystal Palace’s sturdy defence throughout the match.
However, the Denmark international’s goal of the game has seen the north London giants close the gap at the top of the Premier League to just four points once again.
Next up for Eriksen and the rest of his side are bitter rivals Arsenal at White Hart Lane, as they look to go one better than the reverse fixture that saw the two sides draw 1-1.
Spurs could go within one point of league leaders Chelsea if they beat Arsene Wenger’s Gunners, but only if Everton secure three points at home to Antonio Conte’s side on Sunday.
