Redknapp: Pogba is battling it out with Tottenham player for title of best PL midfielder

Jamie Redknapp has insisted in the Mail that Dele Alli and Paul Pogba will scrap it out this season for the title of the Premier League’s best midfielder.
The high-profile pundit and former midfielder hailed the Tottenham and Manchester United men as “sensational” for their respective teams in their opening-day victories.
Alli scored for Spurs as they defeated Newcastle United 2-0 at St James’ Park, while Pogba scored United’s fourth in their 4-0 demolition of West Ham at Old Trafford.
Redknapp was blown away by the performances for the duo and explained he is already looking forward to them facing off in two months’ time.
“Paul Pogba and Dele Alli were simply sensational on Sunday,” Redknapp wrote in his weekly Mail column. “These two will be battling out to be the Premier League’s top midfielder.

“Dele, who scored 18 league goals last season, picked up where he left off with a fine finish at Newcastle.
“While Dele eclipsed Pogba last year, the Frenchman showed just how good he can be against West Ham. I can’t wait for these two to go head to head at Old Trafford in October.”
Alli was used in his favourite No10 role for Spurs as they got their campaign off to a solid start despite not buying any players in this summer’s transfer market.
Pogba was deployed as one of two central midfielders by United alongside new signing Nemanja Matic and the pair dovetailed superbly in a convincing triumph that demonstrated they can be title challengers.
