Redknapp: This is when Tottenham will win the Premier League

Ex-Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp believes that his former club can win the Premier League title within the next four years.

Tottenham have not won the title since 1961, but their closely-fought battle with Leicester last season was the closest they have got since.

In the end, Mauricio Pochettino’s side fell short and slipped behind Arsenal to a third-placed finish.

But Redknapp insists Tottenham have what it takes to achieve their title dreams, and believes that a memorable victory is on the horizon.

He told BBC Radio 5 Live: “They have been fantastic under Pochettino. I have absolutely loved the way they have played – their football, the pace of the full-backs.

“Tottenham will go on and win the Premier League in the next three or four years.

“They’ve not been up there with the big spenders. Now with the new stadium the crowds are going to nearly double.”

Under Redknapp, the north London club won no trophies; but he led them into the Champions League for the first time in the 2010-11 season, where they reached the quarter-finals.

Tottenham currently sit third in the Premier League after 25 games, 10 points behind league leaders Chelsea.

However, much like last year, they’ve endured a blip in form that could once again derail their title hopes. They were beaten 2-0 by rivals Liverpool a week ago, and won just one of their previous three league games.

They are also clinging on to their place in the Europa League, after being beaten 1-0 by KAA Gent in the first-leg of their round of 32 tie on Thursday. The second leg is at Wembley on Thursday.

In other Tottenham news, Redknapp also believes that this Tottenham star is worth more than Paul Pogba.
