Newcastle are not interested in signing Norwich forward Nelson Oliveira, according to a reliable journalist.
Mail reporter Craig Hope has claimed on his personaL Twitter account that the Magpies are not pursuing a move for the 26-year-old.
The Reading Chronicle reported on their transfer blog (10:29am, Thursday) that Newcastle were interested in landing Oliveira.
NUFC are not in for Norwich striker Nelson Oliveira, for those who asked.

However, that has been dismissed by Hope who states that the striker is not being chased by the Premier League club.
Oliveira has begun the new Championship season in blistering form and has three goals in the opening five games for Norwich, which is very impressive considering he has started just twice.
The striker has had a brief 10-game spell in the Premier League with Swansea before and has also competed across top-flight leagues in Spain, Portugal and France.
He has a decent strike record during his time with Norwich, scoring 15 goals in 35 appearances despite having to make do with many substitute roles.
Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez has been keen to bring in another forward before the window closes, but it appears it won’t be Oliveira.
Football Insider verdict:
Newcastle are in desperate need of a new goalscorer at St James’ Park on deadline day, but it’s probably best they have steered away from Oliveira. The Norwich striker certainly wouldn’t offer much more than Aleksandar Mitrovic or Joselu, meaning it would have just been a panic buy. However, if Benitez can land a striker with good Premier League experience that would be ideal for the North East club. They are going to need a prolific scorer to keep them away from relegation troubles and Oliveira wouldn’t have been the man to do that.
In other Newcastle transfer news, they have agreed a loan deal with a Premier League club.
