A former England U19 international, Hobbs moved to the City Ground in 2014 but his contract expires at the club this summer when it is said he will make his way out of the exit door along with a host of others, as manager Aitor Karanka looks to ring the changes to his squad.
The 29-year-old has struggled with a host of injuries and as such has been limited to mainly League Cup appearances having made a total of four outings across all competitions.
Football Insider verdict:
This is a huge shame for Forest fans who will be sorry to hear the news. They know the abilities of Hobbs, who on his day is a top class defender but injuries have taken the toll on the player’s career and now that he has had two injury-hit seasons it’s no surprise to hear the news. Ankle problems and back injuries have been the result of the player’s downfall but if a club can get him injury free then the former Liverpool ace certainly does have a lot to give.
