Reliable journalist: Leeds switch sights to PL striker wanted by Rangers after huge bid made

Transfer specialist Alan Nixon has said that Leeds have entered the race for West Brom striker Tyler Roberts.
Nixon, who writes transfer news for the Mirror, has claimed that Leeds are “trying hard” to sign the striker and that he would be destined for the first-team immediately.

The Sun claimed in December that Rangers had made contact with West Brom over a deal for Roberts, who is out of contract in the summer.
The Express and Star claimed that West Brom are trying to tie the 19-year-old down to a new deal after a “multimliion’ bid had been made.
Roberts is currently on loan at Walsall but is set to return to West Brom at the end of January.
Football Insider verdict:
This is an interesting one. Rangers were interested in the striker in December but have been unable to get a deal through so far. He is out of contract in the summer and West Brom want to sign him to a new deal but so far haven’t been successful. It was also reported that West Brom turned down a huge bid for him. Leeds are very keen but it looks like it would take a very large bid to prise him away although a move to Elland Road might be very attractive to the player. Leeds are one big push away from the Premier league and getting in now on a project like this could be the best career move for the promising player.
