Sky Sports and Rangers journalist Andrew Dickson thinks that Rangers will have new manager Derek McInnes in place for their press conference tomorrow.

He claims that Rangers have been having their press conferences two days before their games this season.

He says that following the bombshell that was dropped in the Aberdeen press conference today – that the future of McInnes would be sorted “sometime today” – that it’s a “clear expectation” that they’ll have McInnes installed as new manager by tomorrow.

Dickson made the claim on his official Twitter page shortly after the announcement was made by the stand-in Aberdeen manager Paul Sheerin.

The Scottish Sun had previously reported that that McInnes’ move is finally expected to be sorted today after weeks of rumours.

Sheerin also said that the uncertainty was not good for fans but all they could do was focus on their game against Dundee on Friday evening.

Betting has now been suspended with most of the major bookies, including SkyBet where McInnes had been the short-priced favourite for weeks.

In other Rangers news, Celtic have suddenly become a key part in the Gers’ bid to appoint McInnes.
