Reo Hatate could soon find his way out of Celtic in the summer transfer window if Miguel Chaiwa is brought into the club.

With the summer transfer window around the corner, the Hoops have a massive task on their hands rebuilding their squad to the level expected.

However, with Celtic potentially missing out on Champions League football, this mission has only gotten harder.

Nevertheless, multiple targets have emerged, with Football Insider revealing that the Hoops have reignited their interest in Chaiwa.

If completed, it would be a considerable coup for Celtic, but would almost certainly mean the end of Reo Hatate’s time in Glasgow.

Reo Hatate’s time at Celtic appears short

Despite being a key player for the Hoops for years, Hatate’s time at the club appears to be coming to an end.

The Japan international has been regularly sidelined in recent months in favour of other options, with his form dwindling.

Now that Arne Engels has returned from injury, his minutes are only likely to decrease further going into the final matches of the campaign.

Chaiwa joining would potentially exclude Hatate from the first-team picture altogether, as the star would be behind several stars in the lineup.

As a result, a move away from Celtic Park is inevitable in the summer, especially as he only has two years left on his current contract, with no signs that a new one is lined up.

Would Hibernian be prepared to let Chaiwa go?

Football Insider has exclusively revealed that Hibs are open to Chaiwa’s departure when the summer transfer window opens.

The Edinburgh outfit are aware of the growing interest in the defensive midfielder and may be powerless to keep him.

Celtic considered a move to sign him during the January transfer window, but ultimately missed out as they were not willing to sanction any permanent deals.

Now this could prove to be costly with numerous other clubs also showing interest as the race for the midfielder heats up.

Therefore, it remains to be seen if the Hoops are able to secure a deal for the Zambia international after his impressive campaign to date.

However, whatever happens, Hatate’s future at the Old Firm club is certainly in doubt going into the summer transfer window.
